About Fort Brown Park
Fort Brown is located 1 mile south of Charloe on road 171 at the confluence of the Big and Little Auglaize Rivers. A small but important historical site, Fort Brown was built as a stockade by General William Henry Harrison during the War of 1812 and named for Colonel Brown who commanded the stockade.
According to local tradition, three soldiers from this era are buried at this site.
A monument erected in 1953 is a wealth of historical information. A local artist has also created several memorial stones in tribute to the significance of this area.
Fort Brown is a peaceful and serene spot that allows for quiet reflection.
