Paulding County Trails

Paving the path to Safety, Health, and Community Connectivity

This project is an investment in the safety, health, and connectedness of the community. Community leaders recognize that the well-being of residents transcends infrastructure. Thriving communities boasting quality of life, business appeal, and environmental stewardship invariably hinge on robust parks and recreation programs. These not only enhance public well-being but also contribute to community desirability, fostering a vibrant and sustainable environment. It speaks to the soul of Paulding – a commitment to ensuring every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to not just live but thrive.

About The Paulding County Trails

The Paulding County Trails Project isn’t just about concrete and asphalt; it’s about creating pathways to a safer, healthier, and more connected community. The Project is a master plan of recreational trails that will connect together areas of the community to improve the quality of life for residents.

The trail project has multiple goals that all work to benefit the community of Paulding. Project goals include:

  • Safety – With dedicated pathways for pedestrians, bicyclists, and wheelchair users, the project would reduce the risk of accidents and create a haven for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.
  • Health & Well-being – Decades of research support the conclusion that increases in physical activity occur as a result of adding a community walking/biking trail, particularly among previously inactive participants. Additionally, Studies show that being outside in nature improves participants overall health and well being.
  • Economic BenefitsTrails stimulate the economy through construction, tourism, and luring new businesses and improves the overall livability of a community.
  • Education – Connecting parks via trails affords opportunities for outdoor education.
  • Recreation – Trails connecting recreation centers provides access, convenience, and leisure opportunities in the community.
  • Environment – Reducing vehicular travel and promoting active lifestyles, we’re not only improving our own health but also leaving behind a greener footprint for future generations to enjoy.

This project will foster a sense of belonging and when complete, will ensure that everyone, regardless of age or ability, has access to the resources and experiences that make life fulfilling. So, lace up your shoes, hop on your bike, grab a friend, and hit the trails. Together, we can build a brighter, healthier future for Paulding County.

“The proposed Paulding County Trails Project isn’t just about concrete slabs and trail markers; it will be an investment in the safety, health, and connectedness of the community. It’s about creating a space where everyone feels welcome and valued.”
